Sunday, 24 May 2026 | Letterkenny Community Centre, Co. Donegal | 2pm – 8pm
This Sunday, Letterkenny becomes the beating heart of African culture in the northwest of Ireland. The African People Collaboration Donegal (APCD) is bringing Africa Day 2026 to the Letterkenny Community Centre (F92K060) and the doors are open to everyone.
From 2 pm to 8 pm, the Community Centre will come alive with a full afternoon of colour, sound, food, sport, and community spirit. Whether you are African, Irish, or simply curious, this is one of the most vibrant free community events on the Donegal calendar this year.
What to Expect
Three main events will run across the afternoon:
Culture Showcase music, dance, dress, and the living traditions of a continent that gave the world its rhythm. Expect performances and displays from communities across the African diaspora in Donegal.
Business Fair meet African-led and African-rooted businesses and organisations operating right here in the northwest. A rare opportunity to connect, support, and discover.
Sports Fiesta Soccer, Volleyball and a lot of friendly competition, and fun for all ages. Come ready to move.
The Community Behind the Day
Africa Day 2026 is organised by the African People Collaboration Donegal, an umbrella body representing some of the most active African community organisations in the region, including the Ghana Union Donegal (GUDL), African Community Donegal (ACD), New Community Networks (NCN), Letterkenny Sports & Social Club, Igbo Community NorthWest Ireland, and Sisters Doing it for Themselves.
